The Stardew Valley 1.6 Update has introduced plenty of fresh content, including new resources that you can gather in different regions. The additions are not restricted to only those that grow on trees, but in the water, too. Here’s how to catch Goby Fish in Stardew Valley.
Stardew Valley Goby Fish Location
The best hint about a Goby’s location is shared by the official description – “Gobies can climb up waterfalls.” Hence, your target search locations should be the different waterfalls that can be found in different regions. The waterfalls found in the Cindersap Forest can be a good spot for starters. You can try at either end of the waterfalls with suitable equipment.
Stardew Valley Goby Fish Spawn Times and Seasons
It seems that the Goby doesn’t actually depend on the season. Based on results from the communities, it appears that this fish can spawn during all the different seasons. That certainly makes it easier if you’re looking to complete your collection after the 1.6 update.
While there’s no reliance on seasons, it appears that this type of fish only spawns during the evenings (after 18:00 hours). It’s worth noting that the spawn rate of Gobies is low to begin with, but players only seem to catch it during the evening. It’s highly unlikely that this fish spawns during the daytime.
Since the spawn rate is low, it’s preferable to use the best equipment possible. Aside from using a rod of the superior type, make sure to use the Deluxe Bait to increase the rate of capture. At the end of the day, you can’t control when the Goby will spawn, but you can control the rate at which you successfully find one.
There are two uses of a Goby – sell for gold or consume it. It’s certainly better to sell them as consuming them reduces 62 energy. If you sell a Goby, you’ll get 150 coins instead, which is definitely more rewarding. Like the Goby, finding Moss in Stardew Valley after the 1.6 update can be difficult, and here’s how you can get them.
