The Homo Fulquilo boss, some might consider a mini-boss, is one of the first main hurdles in Metaphor: ReFantazio. The encounter challenges you to figure out game mechanics because if you don’t play around them, it might be impossible to win the battle. Here’s how to beat the Homo Fulquilo boss in Metaphor: ReFantazio.
How to Defeat the Homo Fulquilo in Metaphor ReFantazio – Nord Mines Boss
The Homo Fulquilo is kind of a one-trick pony. Once you see the Homo Fulquilo use the Fury ability, there’s a notification that’ll tell you that everyone in the front row will get attacked.
The Fury ability takes one full turn to charge up, making the next enemy turn to attack everyone in the front row. Since the damage isn’t shared among all targets in the front row, you want one player to face the brunt of the attack while the others try to damage the Homo Fulquilo. If you leave everyone on the front row, you’ll spend every turn trying to heal yourself, and this won’t cut it.
The best strategy is to have one player in the front. Naturally, all players are in the front row. You’ll have to put the other players in the back row by pressing the D-Pad down while it is the current character’s turn. Leave someone with a sturdy archetype on the front, like a Warrior.
The rest stays in the back. Even if you have this perfect setup for the fight, it’ll take more than that to defeat the Homo Fulquilo this early, especially if you skipped a few enemies along the way.

What is Homo Fulquilo’s Weakness in Metaphor: ReFantazio?
The Homo Fulquilo’s weakness is Ice. In most cases, you don’t have the basic Blizz skill to deal ice damage unless you changed a character’s archetype to Mage and managed to rank it up to level 2. If you don’t have Blizz, it doesn’t matter, as the fight is still winnable without it.
Your goal in the fight is to keep one character taking the full force of the Fury ability while one character stays back and heals. Assuming that you never changed the Seeker archetype (the protagonist’s first archetype), you’ll have the Dei spell to heal your tank indefinitely throughout the fight.
You want to deal as much damage as possible and use Dei situationally to heal the tank when Fury gets unleashed. If Homo Fulquilo deals damage to everyone on your team, you must play a little defensively and maybe use some healing potions to recover faster.
The fight is way easier if the boss does the Fury ability because you have one turn to prepare, and it will only damage one player afterward, which can be healed with Dei. You can also use Guard on your frontline character to mitigate some damage. In fact, it is almost mandatory so you don’t get overwhelmed with healing.
The rewards for the Homo Fulquilo fight only reward one Magla Potion, 210 EXP, 105 Archetype EXP, 600 MAG, and 1,000 Money or Reeves. If you have some points in the Luck attribute, you might get even more.
