When you attempt the Act 4 Bad Signal mission in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies for the first time, you need to defeat Gorm’gant to wrap up the task and continue to more content. This guide will cover how you can easily beat the Aether worm and leave the area.
MW3 Zombies: How to Defeat the Gorm’gant Boss
To beat Gorm’gant in the Dark Aether, you need to destroy the glowing purple weak spots while taking down any of the purple orbs in the area. This boss is tougher than any other enemy in MW3 Zombies, so you also need to have some of the best equipment you can get. Having a Level 3 Pack-A-Punch with a Legendary Aether Tool should be your goal for the first battle.
You also want to make sure that you have a few Self Revive Kits. Gorm’gant has a couple of different attacks that can easily knock you down in one hit. The first attack is when the boss goes underground and resurfaces to eat you. Then Gorm can follow up with a head slam from the sky that also can cause an instant down.
How to Beat Gorm’gant in MW3 Zombies:
- Have a Legendary Weapon with a Level 3 Pack-A-Punch.
- Get up on the cliff for a better position.
- Shoot the purple critical spots on the side of the boss.
- Take down any orbs that appear.
- Keep moving when the boss goes underground.
If you have all of the gear that you need, and you are at the shoreline to fight the worm, your positioning will be important. I like to go back up on the road above the shoreline to where there is a small restroom building. Use this as cover to stick and move in between shots. Shoot the purple critical spots, take-down any orbs, and then go back to shooting.
When Gorm’gant goes underground, make sure you keep moving. If you stay flat-footed, the beast can resurface nearly anywhere and eat you. As mentioned before, the orbs are also a big deal because they constantly respawn and deal some significant damage. With all these mechanics managed you can beat Bad Signal and move on to new Schematics.
With the worm out of the way, get the full list of Act 4 missions ahead of you.
