Choosing Florida as your starting area is important if you are trying to complete challenges like the Wet N Wild or Patient Zero Challenges, among others. Similarly, many others in the game ask you to pick places like New Jersey, Alaska or even entirely different countries. Regardless, the process is almost identical for them all, with just a bit of extra steps and know-how necessary for ones like this.

To be born in Florida specifically, you will have to head to the New Life screen and begin making your character. When you do this, pick the United States as your starting country and a city like Miami, Tampa or Orlando as your “place”. All three of these are cities in Florida, so they will count towards any challenges asking you to live here.

You can use this strategy for other states as well. For example, if a challenge asks you to be born in Texas, choose Houston, Dallas or Austin as your starting place. If a challenge only asks for a specific country, though, you will not have to worry about these details.
