How to Set Off Fireworks in Fortnite

A new 4th of July Fortnite challenge will task players with setting off fireworks near Lazy Lake. Here's where to find them!

To celebrate America’s birthday, Epic has released a new limited-time Fortnite challenge that will task players with setting off USA themed fireworks. For the challenge, players will need to launch five fireworks near Lazy Lake to earn some bonus XP for this season’s Battle Pass. Additionally, it looks like the fireworks may be a small hint at a new Captain America skin coming to the game, so we will take a look at that as well.

Fortnite: Where to Set Off Fireworks Near Lazy Lake

There are a handful of firework locations that players can visit around Lazy Lake to set off and complete this challenge. If you’re not sure what they look like, imagine a giant bottle rocket sticking out of the ground — they should be fairly easy to spot. If you’re having trouble tracking down them all, we’ve detailed a couple of different Fortnite firework locations in the map below.

After you’ve finished setting off fireworks, you’ll be able to cash in 14,000 XP and unlock some extra Battle Pass rewards. This challenge is likely meant to celebrate the 4th of July in the United States, so it probably will only be available in Fortnite for a limited time. So, if you’re interested in the extra XP, you’ll want to go ahead and complete it.

If you watched the fireworks that you set off explode, you may have noticed that the display looks quite similar to Captain America’s shield. We can’t say for sure if a Captain America skin is coming to Fortnite, but it looks highly likely. Earlier this week, those part of Epic’s “support a creator” program received a notice that a new hero skin would be coming to Fortnite and in Tuesday’s update, data miners were able to find some information suggesting that Steve Rogers himself would be making an appearance in the Item Shop. To top it all off, on July 2, Epic tweeted out a shield, star, and firework emoji, seemingly confirming the new skin would be coming to the item shop on July 2.

Epic is currently in the middle of Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 3 and recently announced it would finally be leaving Early Access in the near future. The new season has seen a couple of interesting new features, like allowing players to ride a shark. Season 3 also introduced a new map that is mostly underwater and a season exclusive Aquaman skin that players can unlock. Chapter 2: Season 3 is just getting started, so it should be interesting to see what else Epic has in store for players.
