Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have 400 Pokemon in the main game. This is less than half of the National Dex. While it might not be even half, 400 is still a lot of monsters to catch, train, evolve, and add to your team.
There is also the possibility of more Pokemon being added in Mystery Gift updates, potential DLC for the games, and other avenues. So while the base number is 400, we can see that number go up in the future. Nothing’s set in stone, but usually, Game Freak adds some more pocket monsters through events and other promotions.
