How Many Lightroots Can You Find in Tears of the Kingdom?
There are 120 Lightroots in Tears of the Kingdom’s Depth. For every shrine available on Hyrule’s surface, you’ll find a matching Lightroot! You can also find them all around the Depths, from the center to the farthest corners of the area.
Much like regular shrines, you can interact with Lightroots to activate them as fast travel points, allowing you to return to that spot later to resume your exploration. Activating Lightroots also lights up the surrounding area, making it easier to see what’s happening in the environment and on your map.

Where Are Lightroots in TOTK?
If you’re familiar with Hyrule’s surface shrines, you may notice that Lightroots are in the same spots! Don’t worry; it took me some time to figure this out, too, but knowing this will save you a lot of time later.
Depths Lightroots are located in the exact same positions as Hyrule surface shrines, letting you use them as guides for traversing both areas. If you find a Lightroot that doesn’t have a matching shrine icon on your map, you can use that to find the shrine later! Similarly, if you have a bunch of shrines unlocked, you can go to these spots in the Depths to find their Lightroot.
