How to Heal in Battletoads

Live to fight another day by learning how to heal in Battletoads.

Battletoads is a fun little throwback game that you can play alone, or with your friends in local co-op. As you’re playing through Battletoads, you may encounter situations where you’re low on health.

Unsure what to do in these sorts of scenarios? Here’s how to heal and keep on fighting in Battletoads!

How to Heal in Battletoads

The primary way you heal yourself in Battletoads is by eating flies. When you see flies buzzing around, hit LT and then aim towards the closest fly.

To eat that fly, click Y. It may take you a little practice to get used to doing this quickly, but the more you do it, the easier it’ll become.

In addition to flies, you have the opportunity to keep fighting by playing local co-op with your friends. Unfortunately, Battletoads doesn’t offer online co-op multiplayer which can make playing with your pals somewhat problematic.

However, as long as you have at least one other person to do local co-op with you, you have the opportunity to have an easier time getting through the game.

The reason for this is that your friend has the ability to revive you if you get knocked down. Likewise, you have the ability to revive them. To revive your buddy, approach them and press LB.

Note that reviving someone won’t give them a full health bar back so once you or your friend is revived, we recommend looking around for some flies to eat.

That said, the ability to be revived can help you and your friend push through challenging areas together.

If you have no choice but to play on your own and eating flies just isn’t cutting it, note that you can adjust the difficulty settings in Battletoads though you have to start a new game to do this.
