While playing through Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, one of the first Prosthetic Tools you’ll be able to acquire is the Loaded Axe. Of course, given the difficulty of the game, it can be a challenge to find and unlock the Loaded Axe as you work to acclimate to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
The first step in getting the Loaded Axe is knowing where to find it. In Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, you can find the Loaded Axe by following the Hirata Estate story section that’s available relatively early on in the game.
To do this, you’ll first need to travel to the Ashina Outskirts. Around the Outskirts Wall and Gate Path, you’ll find a Sculptor’s Idol near the Stairway. Nearby, you’ll also find an elderly woman who initially confuses you for her son.
Because of this, you’ll receive a bell from her which you’ll need to take over to the Dilapidated Temple and offer to the Golden Buddha. Once this is done, you’ll begin the Hirata Estate story path. Upon reaching the Hirata Estate, rest at the Sculptor’s Idol, then follow the path up through a series of enemies until you reach the first gate.
Head through the gate, then grapple to the next gateway path up on your right. Travel down this path until you stumble across a dying man who asks you to grab the Loaded Axe out of a nearby temple. Of course, the trick is knowing which temple it’s located in.
While near the dying man, look around for a pair of soldiers and eavesdrop on their conversation. In doing so, you’ll uncover the location of the temple. Next, take out the soldiers and then turn to your right. In the nearest temple to you, you should be able to find and grab the Loaded Axe.
Something else to keep in mind is the Flame Vent is also located in the Hirata Estate area, so before you leave you may want to set aside some additional time to seek this out as well. With the Loaded Axe on hand, you can return to the Sculptor at the Dilapidated Temple.
Other things to note when dealing with the Loaded Axe include the fact that the prosthetic will set you back one Spirit Emblem. As indicated by the dying man, the Loaded Axe is particularly special in that it can break through enemy shields.
It also doles out a wealth of heavy posture damage, which can be useful in a variety of enemy engagements. Overall, it’s well worth taking the time to locate and pick up the Loaded Axe shinobi prosthetic in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice by exploring the Hirate Estate area.
