Epic Games recently announced a special promotion tying into the upcoming beta for Marvel’s Avengers on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The beta begins on August 7 for gamers who pre-ordered a copy of Marvel’s Avengers on PlayStation 4. For gamers who pre-ordered a copy on Xbox One, the beta for Marvel’s Avengers begins on August 14.

If you aren’t planning to pre-order a copy of Marvel’s Avengers at all, rest assured that there will be an open beta that doesn’t require a pre-order purchase to participate in. 

Below, we’ve listed all of the beta dates for Marvel’s Avengers on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. 

• Marvel’s Avengers Beta on PS4 (Pre-Order): August 7 – August 9
• Marvel’s Avengers Beta on Xbox One (Pre-Order): August 14 – August 16

• Marvel’s Avengers on PS4 (Open Beta): August 14 – August 16
• Marvel’s Avengers on PS4 (Open Beta): August 21 – August 23
• Marvel’s Avengers on Xbox One (Open Beta): August 21 – August 23

As you can see with those dates, PS4 users have an advantage when it comes to the time they get with the Marvel’s Avengers beta. If you pre-order a copy of the game, you get even more time.

The amount of time you have in the Marvel’s Avengers beta is important as you won’t be able to get the Huck Smashers Pickaxe by playing the beta on its own.

Instead, you’ll need to complete three HARM Challenges in Marvel’s Avengers before the beta period comes to an end.

You’ll also need to make sure your Xbox Live or PlayStation account is connected to your Epic Games account before you begin playing the Marvel’s Avengers beta.

You can run through the process of connecting your Epic Games account to your Xbox Live or PlayStation account by reading through Epic’s official guide.

You’ll also need to connect your Epic Games account to your Square Enix account. With everything properly linked together, you’re ready for the release of the Marvel’s Avengers beta.

Again, by completing three HARM Challenges in the Marvel’s Avengers beta, you’ll receive the Huck Smashers Pickaxe as a free reward. You’ll also receive a bonus Hulkbuster style for your Huck Smashers Pickaxe. 

In the event you’re unable to complete the three HARM Challenges in the Marvels Avengers beta in time, Epic Games confirmed that both the Hulk Smashers Pickaxe and Hulkbuster style will be available in the Item Shop at a later date.

Given the fact that they’ll be in the Item Shop, it sounds like you may need to spend V-Bucks to acquire them outside of the Marvel’s Avengers beta.
