How to Earn Trial Tickets in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Modern Warfare players are suddenly very interested in Trial tickets, for... reasons.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare community is experiencing a bit of a gold rush today, as a pretty substantial XP glitch has been discovered. We doubt the glitch will be available for much longer, although it’s pretty convenient it was discovered right before the weekend. You can check out our previous coverage of the glitch to get the story there, but with the glitch comes a barrier of entry in the form of Trial tickets. And not everyone knows how those work! So here’s a brief rundown on what Trial tickets are and how to get them.

How to get Tickets in Modern Warfare

First, if you don’t know what Trials are, they’re a series of single-player challenges that were introduced in Modern Warfare. Normally you gain XP and level up just via playing online matches, but Infinity Ward added Trials in as an extra incentive to work on individual skills. Each Trial targets a specific aspect of gameplay, from marksmanship to maneuverability, and each one has a 3-star rating system that rewards XP based on how well you do. The top prize is 10,000 XP, which is no laughing matter.

To get a Trial ticket, you need to be a pretty regular and consistent player. You’ll have to get to Officer rank in Modern Warfare to even unlock the Trials, which doesn’t happen until level 55. Once you’re there, you’ll receive Trial tickets simply as level up rewards, every few levels or so. You’ll need to cash in your Trial tickets to play the missions, and each ticket is worth three tries. So if you’re trying to whip up a cool 30,000 (or more with boosters) XP, this is a good way to do that without the frustrations of multiplayer. And with the recent glitch, it’s currently the fastest way through the Battle Pass.

That glitch won’t last forever, but you can certainly keep your eyes peeled for when Infinity Ward eventually pulls the plug. We also need to stress that going after the glitch could be risky, as we don’t know how Infinity Ward will react to players making use of it. But either way, Trials are a great way to get some chunky XP gains, glitch or no glitch. For better or worse, getting your hands on a ticket is a simple process, albeit sometimes time-consuming.

Are you making use of the XP glitch in Modern Warfare? Or do you play your military shooters as straight-laced as you possibly can?
