The latest entry in the Assassin’s Creed series brings quite a bit to the table for players to experience and ultimately conquer. Early on players can receive the quest The Daughters of Artemis in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Completing this quest will reward players with the Legendary Artemis’ Bow, which is a great weapon to obtain early on. Completing this quest will require you to track down and kill the Kalydonian Boar in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, one of the most powerful early-game enemies in the game. This article will point out some of the best strategies to defeat the Kalydonian Boar in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey so you can get the Artemis’ Bow.
How to Kill the Kalydonian Boar
When you first start the fight, you’re going to need to focus your attention on the boar itself. The Kalydonian Boar has quite a pool of health to whittle down, so make sure you’re just focusing on putting as much heat on it as possible. You’ll also need to dodge attacks and stay out of attack range whenever it tries to attack you. Use your target lock to keep track of it, but don’t be afraid to break away and dodge away and get clear for a few moments to catch your breath. This fight is going to take a bit, so be prepared for a fight.
Once you reach the first marker on the boar’s health—roughly 25% damage done to it—it’s going to retreat away from you. When this happens, back away slowly and pay careful attention. This is where the fight starts to get tough—tougher than it already was—as the boar will now call in some help.
From here on out the battle becomes all about managing your targets. Four smaller boars will join the fight. Start looking around immediately to spot them charging their way into battle. This is the tricky part. Not only will you need to dodge these boars, but you’ll also need to keep an eye out for the larger Kalydonian Boar, which will rejoin the fight after a few moments.
The easiest way to make it through this portion of the fight is to keep one of the four smaller boars alive—but almost dead. Each time you cut off another 25% of the Kalydonian Boar’s health, more smaller boars will join the fight—but only four can join the fight in total at once. This means you can leave one of the four alive and almost dead. Once the other three spawn and charge into battle, take out the almost dead boar, then focus on killing two of the others and wounding the last one. Continue doing this until you manage to defeat the Kalydonian Boar.
This fight is very challenging, and players should expect to fail a couple of times as they get used to the mechanics of the fight. You can return to our Assassin’s Creed Odyssey guide to learn how to fast travel as well as how to pass time and meditate.
