How to Find All Poisonous Trail Maps

The first step to finding the treasure in this quest is to find all three pieces of the map. Each piece can be found in a specific place in the world, and we’ve sorted them all below. Once you complete the map you’ll find yourself with four Gold Bars, which you can sell to a Fence for a pretty penny.

Poisonous Trail Map #1

The first piece of the map can be found in the northeastern part of the map—close to where you start off the main story. Look for Cairn Lake on your map and then head up to the lake. Once here, look for a small cabin at the very end of the lake. The piece of the map can be found inside a lockbox in the cabin.

Poisonous Trail Map #2

The second map piece can be found to the north of the town of Rhodes. Look west of Eris Field and Ringneck Creek for an area called Face Rock. There’s a hill here that you can climb to find a series of dead trees. Look for the map piece in a hole in one of the trees.

Poisonous Trail Map #3

To find the final piece of this treasure map head west-southwest of the Van Horn Trading Post. To find the map piece you’re going to want to look out for a snake carved into the ground. Once you find it, look out for the eyes—they should be made out of rocks. Search the middle of the eye to grab the map piece.

With all three map pieces, it’s time to find the actual treasure.

How to Find the Poisonous Trail Treasure

Now that you have all three pieces of the map, head over to Elysian Pool. There’s a waterfall here that you’ll want to head behind. Make your way through the waterfall, then pull out your Lantern to light the way. Follow the cavern until you come to a ledge. Carefully make your way down the ledge to the bottom of the area. Here you can continue moving down the path towards your west. There’s a small hole to the north that you’ll want to look out for. Duck into it and then turn down the first right that you come too.

Keep following this path until you find a lockbox with several jewels inside of it. From here, take the path that heads off to the northeast and keep moving until you reach another ledge. Here you need to turn to the left and move down to another ledge. Be careful as you can easily fall in this area, so you may want to pop a manual save just in case. Once you reach the second ledge, drop down and slide into the water. Here you can climb up onto another ledge where you’ll find these four gold bars, each worth around $500 at the Fence.
