How Big is Persona 3 Reload? File Size Guide

Way smaller than expected

Persona games are known for being a long journey, filled with hours of side content and extensive dialogue lines that add to a masterfully crafted story. So it’s only normal to expect that game files for Persona 3 Reload would be equally huge to compress that much content, correct?

Persona 3 Reload File Size Explained

Persona 3 Reload has a file size of 22GB as we can see from the game’s pre-download file, available from Xbox devices. It’s decently small for a modern game, especially for a title that’s known for being lengthy. But it isn’t that strange when we compare it to other games by Atlus.

Persona 4 Golden has only 10GB in total on PC, which is understandable due to being originally developed for a portable system. Soul Hackers 2, although a smaller game compared to the average Persona series title, also had exactly 22GB. It still had some decent side content, so maybe it’s just that Atlus is quite competent in file compression.

Persona 5 Royal is an outlier with a total of 44GB file size. But again, this is reasonable considering how much extra content is added compared to the base game. There are also special modes like the Thieves’ Den included here, and from what we’ve seen from trailers, nothing similar has been announced for Persona 3 Reload.

There’s also another simpler reason for this file size. These could be merely the pre-load files, and the rest of them would be downloaded on February 2nd, the game’s release date. Nothing has been confirmed on this, but it wouldn’t be impossible to be the case.

Whichever the reason may be, it’s refreshing to have a smaller game you can play for many hours for once, as most recent games have been atrociously bad with their file sizes. And you can give it a try on Game Pass as soon as it’s officially out, so that’s a plus.
