Like the original 1997 game, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth contains loads of different types of Materia for Cloud and his party to utilize. While some offer access to magic spells and stat upgrades, others are meant to enhance whatever Materia they’re linked to. In this guide, we’ll go over how Auto-Cast Materia works and where you can find it in FF7 Rebirth.
What is Auto-Cast Materia in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth? (FF7)
In FF7 Rebirth, Auto-Cast Materia can be linked with other active-type Materias, like magic spells or skills, which will automatically cast when the equipped character isn’t being controlled.
Much like other blue-colored Materia, Auto-Cast is a supportive Materia that’s meant to be linked with other Materia for any effect to take place. You can link Materia together by placing them into the same set of linked sockets on your gear as shown in the screenshot below.
For instance, when Auto-Cast is linked with Fire, the character with the equipped Materia will automatically cast Fire when they’re not being controlled by the player, provided they have enough ATB and MP to cast it.
Other spells and skills can be linked with Auto-Cast, such as Prayer, Chakra, and even Steal.
Auto-Cast Materia Stats
Auto-Cast can be increased up to Rank 2. Its ranks will grant the following effects to the equipped character:
- Rank 1: Activate Auto-Cast
- Rank 2: Increase magic by 2%
Where to Find Auto-Cast Materia in FF7 Rebirth
In FF7 Rebirth, Auto-Cast Materia can be obtained as early as Chapter 2 by exchanging Intel points with Chadley in the Grasslands.
After meeting Chadley and discovering various Intel points around the Grasslands Region, you can purchase up to seven Auto-Cast Materias through the Develop Materia menu. The first purchase will cost 20 Data points, and the price will gradually increase after each exchange.
Now, you’ll be able to have your favorite spells and skills cast for you, allowing you to focus your attention on other characters in the heat of battle.
