Getting Started On Collecting Minikits In Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens

"These are the first steps" in getting Minikits in the first two levels of Lego Star Wars.
This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

You’ll find a number of different collectibles scattered in Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, including Red Bricks that unlock cheats in the game; Gold Bricks that help you find additional characters and vehicles; and Carbonite, where you can come across certain heroes and villains trapped inside. However, there’s one that’s pretty common in each stage of the game – Minikits.

These funkily designed gizmos are scattered throughout each main level, with ten available in each one. We’ve got a full walkthrough of how to find them all in our Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens eGuide, but here’s a quick rundown of where to find them all in the first two stages of the game!

Prologue: The Battle of Endor

In this familiar territory from Return of the Jedi, you’ll guide Han Solo, Princess Leia and others through an assault on Endor. However, you’ll want to take a little time and complete these ten sub-activities in order to pick up the minikits, thus earning another Gold Brick at the conclusion of the level.

First off, you’ll find a point where you can do a multi-build. Use one of these to make yourself a trampoline, then jump on and pick yourself up the Minikit that would normally be outside your reach.

Next, you’ll see an Insect Hive. You’ll need to have a Force empowered character to shake this up, but once you do, you’ll get a Minikit for your trouble.

There’s a nearby brick lift midway through the stage that you can put together via multi-build. Do this, and you’ll be able to pick up the third Minikit in Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Next up, find a nearby pile that will let you put together musical instruments. The Ewoks will then play them, and you’ll have another Minikit for your trouble.

You’ll see an AT-ST come up midway through the stage, with three rock piles nearby. Shoot them with Han Solo and you’ll unveil the fifth Minikit in the stage.

Later on, you’ll have the chance to climb into AT-ST’s with your rebel soldiers. Take over three of them successively and the sixth Minikit is yours.

There will be a mini-game midway through the stage where you can have BB-8 take control of a ship. Once he takes flight with it, the seventh Minikit will be available.

Next up, you’ll be in the fight with the Emperor. Have a character that can go through the nearby access hatch and you’ll be able to earn another Minikit.

When flying in the Millennium Falcon, you’ll have the chance to blast the turbolaser towers. Blast five in a row and you’ll earn the ninth Minikit.

Finally, you’ll get to the segment with the Power Core. Don’t destroy it yet, though. Instead, take out the three blue pylons above and you’ll earn the final Minikit for the stage. Then blast the Death Star to pieces and get out of there!

The video below provides a walkthrough of where each Minikit is in the first stage of Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, so you won’t miss any!

Chapter I: Assault On Jakku

In this stage, you’ll primarily take control of Poe Dameron and BB-8, alternating between the two to get through the stage. Here, you’ll be able to find nine Minikits to add to your collection, so let’s get started!

First off, head to the Village Retreat at the start of this stage and put together three barrels. Once you do, a Minikit will appear, ripe for the picking.

The next Minikit in this stage comes with some sporting activities. Play a quick game of bowling where indicated in the video below, then score a soccer goal and shoot BB-8 as you would a basketball. Score in all of these and this Minikit is yours.

Next up is the third Minikit, which you’ll find inside a raised home. Just explore all the huts in the area and you’ll find it. There are quite a few in Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but they’re worth exploring.

You’ll need a character that can destroy silver Legos to acquire the fourth Minikit, but if you have one, just take down the three towers located in the First Order Assault.

Midway through this stage in Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, you’ll find a downed water tower tank. Have a character that can use Force abilities to put it back into place, and you’ll earn the fifth Minikit.

The sixth Minikit is hidden in a hut, with a Stormtrooper inside. Take them out first and you’ll earn it with ease.

For the seventh Minikit, you’ll want to look for a dive pool near the shielded Stormtrooper outpost. Hop in and you’ll find the Minikit inside.

There’s a Stormtrooper with a flamethrower a bit after, and you’ll be able to spot a gold Lego chest near him. Open it up to acquire the eighth Minikit.

Finally, look for some strength handles on a hut right before you conclude the stage. Pull on them and you’ll be able to open it up and get the final Minikit!
