While exploring the vast land, underground, and skies of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, one of the most entertaining and rewarding quests to do is to find bigger, stronger, and better weapons for Link to use. One of the most recent gems found by players is the Pristine Royal Guard’s Claymore. Here’s how to get the Pristine Royal Guard Claymore in Tears of The Kingdom.

Getting the Pristine Royal Guard’s Claymore in TotK

The first thing you must do in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to get the Pristine Royal Guard’s Claymore is find the Rusty Royal Guard’s Claymore. Only once I found the Rusty version of the Royal Guard’s Claymore did I find the Pristine version.

You’ll find the rusty version of the Royal Guard’s Claymore at the Sanctum inside Hyrule Castle. Once you’ve reached the Sanctum room, look for the broken statue of the horse and soldier. Behind there, one should spawn in this spot more often than not. It is the most common location for the Rusty Claymore to appear.

Once you’ve completed the hunt for a Rusty Royal Guard’s Claymore, you’re now ready for the next step, which is to upgrade the Purah Pad. If you already have all of the upgrades for Link’s Purah Pad, then skip to the final step of this guide.

Upgrade Your Purah Pad by Robbie (Goggles) in TotK

To upgrade your Purah Pad, you’ll need to first complete a series of quests that will help you unlock the sensor within the Purah Pad. For more information on how to upgrade the Purah Pad and who to talk to, you can read: How To Get The Shrine Sensor In TotK.

Once you’ve upgraded the Pad, you’ll be able to access Robbie’s Compendium database, purchase the Royal Guard’s Claymore picture, and add it as an entry to your Hyrule Compendium. You’ll be able to do this at Robbie’s location, at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab (Coordinates: 3374, -2128, 0250).

Side Note: Be sure to have plenty of Rupees on you, as each entry you purchase costs 100 rupees per entry. If you’re low on funds, do a manual save before your purchase and load your saved game until you get the weapon entry you need from the Compendium to find the weapon of mass destruction.

After adding the image to your Hyrule Compendium, you’ll be able to select the Royal Guard’s Claymore entry you’ve just bought and add it to your Purah sensor. This will make finding the weapon in discussion easier and faster.

Where to Find the Pristine Royal Guard’s Claymore in Tears of the Kingdom?

Using the Purah Pad’s sensor, you’ll be able to find the Pristine Royal Guard’s Claymore in the Depths, spawned from one of the Shadow Soldiers. To begin the search, it’s best to build a Zonai flying device and get ready to tour the Depths, as there is no exact location for the weapon. The first time I found it, it was by chance.

Thereafter, I discovered that the weapon would not appear in the same location repeatedly, and using the sensor was the best way to search for it in the Depths. Hopefully, with the added sensor trick, you’ll be able to find the Pristine Claymore a lot quicker than me. It took me quite a while, and I found it while I wasn’t looking.
