There is a great deal of excitement brewing in the competitive Fortnite community with the Winter Royale competition for 2019 set to kick off on December 20th. This excitement is no doubt due to the over $15,000,000 prize pool that will be awarded through out the entirety of the tournament. This prize pool will be split evenly over the course of the three days that the Winter Royale will be taking place. Fortnite Winter Royale Prize Pool
Money will paid out at various amounts for each of the regions that will have players competing in the event. Players competing on different platforms will also receive different amounts of money based on their placements. This means that the 1st place player in the Asia region for PC will get a different award than the first place player on Mobile for the Oceania region.

Unfortunately, there has been some backlash from the community regarding this distribution of funds for the competition regarding how the amount of money different regions and platforms get when they get the same placement. There has also been concerns regarding the sheer amount of players being able to compete has diluted the impressive prize pool to an amount that is not so enticing to the top tier of players.
