The Fortnite Doomsday event has come and gone, and it looks like big changes are underway for Chapter 2: Season 3. So, in this guide, we will take a look at what’s going on with the new storm in Fortnite.

Is There a New Storm in Fortnite?

The Device event took place in Fortnite on June 15, just two days before the end of Chapter 2: Season 2. In case you missed it, during the event, Midas’ Doomsday device emerged from underneath the Agency and completely destroyed the building. Further, the hatches surrounding the Agency opened up and deployed giant electric conductors of a sort that absorbed the electricity from the Doomsday device. Each of the conductors shot out a bolt of electricity at the storm and turned it into a giant tidal wave of sorts. If you missed the event, you can check it out in the video below:

If you want to see the new Fortnite storm for yourself, you can do so by queuing up a match like normal. Once you load onto the Battle Bus, you’ll find that it is now flying above a giant body of water, with a space carved out for the map. Further, players that get caught in the storm will now be able to swim back to dry land instead of run. It’s unclear if this will be the permanent new storm, or if things will change when Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 3 launches later this week.

It’s unclear what will happen in the coming days, but it seems that Epic is planning a new storyline with a company that appears to be trying to control the storm. During the event, players that attended were randomly teleported to an office building, where they could overhear a phone call between Agent Jonesy and an unknown third party. Fans were only able to hear bits and pieces of the conversation, but it seems that whatever organization Jonesy works for is trying to find a way to change how the storm works. Further, it’s unclear if Jonesy’s company are the good guys or the bad guys, but hopefully, we will learn more in the coming days!

In the meantime, players still have a few days left to complete the remaining challenges in Chapter 2: Season 2. Once the new season launches, all of the challenges and Season 2 rewards will be gone forever, so be sure to level up while you can. Below are some of our guides that should help.
