Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 has a number of changes for players to adjust to from the appearance of the Sideways and Cube Monsters to what appears to be the absence of IO Guards.
Speaking of which, Fortnite players have been asking where to find IO Guards now that Season 8 has arrived. While it’s harder to find IO Guards now that they’re no longer prowling around Satellite Dish locations, rest assured they’re still very much in the game.
To help you find them, we’ve put together a quick guide on where to find IO Guards in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8!
Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 | Where to Find IO Guards
As previously mentioned, IO Guards aren’t going to be found at Satellite Dish locations in Season 8 of Fortnite. Instead, they’re going to be found at smaller, harder to find outpost locations which we’ve marked in the map image above.
We’ve found three of these outposts so far, though we imagine there may be more of these. For the Quest that tasks you with eliminating IO Guards, any of these outpost locations will work as you’ll typically find two IO Guards at these outpost locations.
Rather than guarding the perimeter, the IO Guards we encountered were inside the outpost building itself. We recommend stocking up on weapons and supplies before venturing to one of these outposts as IO Guards will shoot back at you.
They’re not exactly great shots, but they can deal some damage if you aren’t careful. So to recap, IO Guards are still in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8.
Rather than at Satellite Dish locations in Season 7, you’ll find IO Guards at smaller outpost locations scattered throughout the map. The three locations we found were near Pleasant Park, west of the gas station north of Lazy Lake, and one to the west of Misty Meadows.
