The Week 8 Challenges are live in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7, bringing with them ways to earn XP and level up your Battle Pass. Among these Week 8 Challenges are a set of Legendary Quests, including one where you need to collect an Access Card from an IO Guard.

If you’re uncertain where to find IO Guards in Fortnite – or the “collect Access Card” note has you stumped – we’ve got you covered. Below, we’ll walk you through how to collect an Access Card from an IO Guard in Fortnite!

The first step when it comes to collecting an Access Card from an IO Guard in Fortnite is knowing where to find IO Guards. In Fortnite, you’ll find IO Guards at various Dish locations like Dockside Dish and Dampy Dish.

You’ll also find IO Guards throughout the Corny Complex area, especially in and around the main red barn as this location hides the entrance to Slone’s secret hideout. In the map image above, we’ve circled all of the spots where you can find IO Guards in Fortnite.

Once you’ve reached one of these locations, your next order of business is to find an IO Guard. 

For this particular Week 8 Challenge, we decided to complete it at Corny Complex as there are more opportunities to find and corner an IO Guard in order to collect their Access Card. 

This leads to the next question players will have, which is how do you collect the Access Card itself from an IO Guard? The answer to this is easier than you might think. All you need to do is equip yourself with a weapon and start firing at an IO Guard.

When you knock one down, they’ll drop an Access Card. Likewise, when you eliminate an IO Guard, they’ll drop an Access Card. In the image below, we’ll show you what the dropped Access Card looks like.

When you see this, approach it and interact with it to collect it to earn yourself 45,000 XP in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7.

When you’re done with this Legendary Quest as part of the Week 8 Challenges, you’ll be able to work your way through the next task which is to plant wiretaps at different locations in Fortnite.
