How to Drop a Weapon in Call of Duty: Warzone

Before now, players could only drop a weapon if they picked up a new one to replace it. This was a significant point of frustration for players, as it did not allow them to provide a gun to their teammates who just respawned via winning a Gulag fight or by being repurchased from a buy station without them finding a gun to replace one that they had. However, this has now all changed much to the delight of players.

Players can now drop a weapon anytime they want by going to their inventory. Once you are in your inventory, move over to the far right until you are over your currently equipped gun. You will then see a button prompt that will allow you to drop your currently equipped weapon when you press it. You can see an example of what this process looks like in the image below:

The ability to drop a weapon will allow players to provide weapons to their teammates when they do not have any following their respawning or at the beginning fo match if they have not yet found a suitable gun to go into battle against enemy players. The addition of this mechanic was a surprise to the community, as Infinity Ward did not mention it in the game’s latest update that added this highly requested feature to Call of Duty: Warzone. However, players are happy to see that they can now finally drop a weapon for their teammates whenever they want and do not have to wait until they find a replacement gun.
