Unlock SSB Goku and Vegeta

  • Pre-order the game.
  • Earn a total of 300,000 zeni for SSB Vegeta.
  • Earn a total of 500,000 zeni for SSB Goku.
  • Complete the Extreme Gravity Spaceship Course (Hard) in Arcade mode, with an A rank or higher for SSB Vegeta.
  • Complete the Hyperbolic Time Chamber Course (Hard) in Arcade mode, with an A rank or higher for SSB Goku.

The easiest way to unlock Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta is to simply pre-order the game. As a pre-order bonus at most retailers, you will gain the ability to unlock these two Super Saiyan God Super Saiyans by simply entering a code. That doesn’t mean you can’t unlock these two characters if you fail to pre-order, but that’s the easiest way to gain access to both characters right off the bat. You’ll also be able to use their chibi avatars in online lobbies immediately, but these can also be unlocked through Z capsules in the game.

If you didn’t pre-order, there are two other ways to unlock Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta. If you’re a fairly skilled player, you can go through Arcade mode to unlock both characters. There are three main courses in Arcade mode: Snake Way, Extreme Gravity Spaceship and Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Completing each course will unlock a hard version of the same course. You need to beat the hard version of Extreme Gravity Spaceship with an A rank or higher in order to unlock SSB Vegeta, and complete the hard version of Hyperbolic Time Chamber with an A rank or higher for SSB Goku. These hard mode courses are fairly difficult to beat with any rank, but ending with an A rank or higher will be difficult for most players.

Another way to unlock both characters is by grinding for zeni. Once you have a total of 300,000 zeni, SSB Vegeta will unlock automatically. Gain a total of 500,000 zeni and SSB Goku will unlock. Now this doesn’t mean you need to have 300,000 in your wallet, ready to spend. The game keeps track of the total zeni you’ve collected (spent or not) in the Player Info, Player Data section of the lobby pause menu. It can be found at the bottom of the Offline Mode Log tab. So you can spend as much zeni as you’d like and still unlock these characters.
