Does the Beast Steak Money Making Trick Work in Dragon’s Dogma 2? – Answered

Your financial future is at steak!

In Dragon’s Dogma, you could give yourself a great head start by taking advantage of the Beast Steak money-making trick. It was an easy way to make money, which allowed you to be well-equipped early on. But is this still possible in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

Can You Still Make Money Fast with Beast Steak in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

I understand that Dragon’s Dogma 2 is both a huge and amazing game, and you want to get out there and explore the world as soon as possible. I did as well! And that’s why I experimented to see if the Beast Steak trick was still worth doing. Sadly, it is no longer a viable way to make money in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

In the original game, just outside the Gran Soren, there is a large herd of oxen that you can kill to potentially obtain a beast steak. A beast steak alone is worth 300G, but after a few days, it turns into a Sour Beast Steak and is worth 1500G. That’s a large increase for nothing. The oxen often respawn, and you can sleep at an inn to have the beast steak sour faster. It was a quick method of earning gold.

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, there are also oxen outside of Vernworth, and they do still drop beast steak. However, a beast steak is worth 140G, and an aged beast steak is worth 280G. So, while, yes, it does increase, the time spent slaying the oxen and waiting for the beast steak to turn sour isn’t worth the payback, unfortunately.

Fortunately, you’ll find many items you can sell to make money as you venture all over the map. You’ll find that you’ll need all four party members’ storage to keep up with the sheer number of materials that you can collect, but they’re worth having to upgrade your equipment, combine into useful items, or sell off.
