Kratos has seen hell more than once, but physically and metaphorically. But each time he’s managed to crawl out of the pit and live to fight another day. But when Atreus is shown the mural with his father dead in his arms, it seems like death is an inevitability for the God of War.

Kratos, in arms with several of his powerful allies, throws himself blade first against the final antagonist. Once that antagonist falls, the moment that should have led to Kratos’ death has passed. He still stands at the conclusion of Ragnarok, as does Atreus.

Atreus may see his own spinoff games, which would be unsurprising considering how much he’s been developed in the past two games and how strong he’s become in that time.
