There are several types of locked stashes out there, including Hyena Caches, Outcast Caches, True Son Caches, and Black Tusk Caches. Each of these requires a different key type to unlock it. Fortunately, finding the Faction Cache Keys isn’t too difficult, as most are hidden in the tunnels networks of the underground.

Tunnels can be accessed via ladders from the surface, and any entrances you’ve visited already will be marked on your map. Head to one and start to explore. What you’re looking for are key boxes stuck to the sides of the tunnel. They’re not the easiest things to see, but they emit an orange glow like every lootable box. Once you know what you’re after, they won’t be hard to find. Each tunnel should contain at least one key box, so you’re sure to find something of use.

Once you’ve found a key, make your way to another tunnel to start hunting for another. Sadly you can’t pick and choose which key type you’ll find, but certain keys do tend to appear in specific areas. If you’re after Faction Cache Keys, try exploring the tunnels in West Potomac Park, There are loads of key boxes within them, so you’ll have pretty good odds of getting the one you want before long.

Once you’ve found the relevant key, you should head to a Faction Cache to claim your reward. These are locked crates discarded around the city, and you’re likely to run into a few while completing missions or wandering the world. If you’re after one to start you off, there’s a True ons Cache at the beginning of the National Archives mission that takes place in the Federal Triangle. Look around for the cache before you enter the double doors.
