Destiny 2 “The Recluse” God Roll For PvP & PvE

The Recluse is back, and we've got you covered with a couple god rolls.

The SMG meta has been dominating Destiny 2’s PvP for some time now. While the recent Special Ammo changes in modes like Trials of Osiris have brought back other weapons into play, SMGs still offer deadly close to mid-range potential. For the players out there who still wish to grind, here are some great “god rolls” for The Recluse in both PvP and PvE.

How To Get The Recluse in Destiny 2

With the Into the Light update, Bungie brought back one of the most infamous SMGs of all, The Recluse. This 900RPM Void Submachine Gun has some great perks to offer, despite the slight nerfs it received for its return.

Before you’re able to achieve your ultimate god roll with this weapon, you must first earn it. Thankfully, it’s pretty easy to start farming rolls. Here are the steps needed to achieve this weapon:

  • Complete Arcite’s BRAVE Weapon Quest (specifically related to The Recluse).
  • Attune the weapon in the Hall of Champions.
  • Start farming Onslaught activities where you’ll find your rewards in the chests at the end.

It should be noted that once you complete Arcite’s quest, you’ll receive a roll that already has a fixed set of perks. However, completing the quests unlocks the weapon attunement. Once attuned, The Recluse’s drop rate will increase by 50%.

The Recluse PvP God Roll in Destiny 2

While this version of The Recluse may not be as deadly as its older counterpart, this roll can still pack a punch in The Crucible.

  • Barrel: Extended Barrel
  • Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
  • Perk 1: Dynamic Sway Reduction
  • Perk 2: Tap the Trigger
  • Masterwork: Range
  • Mod: Quick Access Sling

This roll prioritizes stability and accuracy by taking advantage of the perks Dynamic Sway Reduction and Tap the Trigger. Seeing as The Recluse is a 900RPM Submachine Gun, these perks help offset the weapon recoil and allow it to stay on target more efficiently.

It also gets a boost in range by having Extended Barrel, and the Range Masterwork.

The Recluse PvE God Roll in Destiny 2

When it comes to Void Submachine Guns, The Recluse stands among the best including Funnelweb and Subjunctive. However, it’s pretty easy to farm The Recluse right now, making it a top contender.

  • Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling
  • Magazine: High-Caliber Rounds
  • Perk 1: Feeding Frenzy or Repulsor Brace
  • Perk 2: Master of Arms or Destabilizing Rounds
  • Masterwork: Stability

With this roll, we’ve opted for either Feeding Frenzy and Master of Arms, or Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds.

Feeding Frenzy and Master of Arms have always been great go-to picks for The Recluse, even when it was a Pinnacle Weapon. However, Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds are also great picks for those who choose to run a Void Subclass.
