The European Aerial Zone is a hotbed of activity this Solstice, and you’re going to have until August 27 to make the most of this unique location and to ensure that you’re able to get that prized Solstice armor. The combat meditations that you’ll have to go through in the European Aerial Zone are a big part of the seasonal experience, and we’ll go into more detail about those when we discuss how to handle the current Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes minibosses and events.

Destiny 2 Solstice Of Heroes: European Aerial Zone Elemental Buffs

One of the key features of the European Aerial Zone is the elemental buffs. These are an incredibly important part of the Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes event, because they’re indispensable to completing the Zone’s bounties and also necessary if you’re wanting to knock out the pre-requisites for upgrading your Solstice Armor.

The European Aerial Zone gives you one of three random elemental buffs: Arc Energy, Solar Energy, and Void Energy. Each of these will allow you to equip a corresponding elemental subclass and weapon to create orbs of that particular elemental type. Those orbs will go towards various European Aerial Zone bounties, and will be instrumental when you want to upgrade your Solstice armor.

Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes: European Aerial Zone Minibosses and Events

Another thing to keep in mind about the European Aerial Zone is how the combat meditations will work. What’s most important when you’re traversing this mile-high map is making sure that you’ve got your priorities in check: 1) Kill minibosses, 2) Kill the boss, and 3) Get loot from chests. These combat meditations are conducted on the clock, so the name of the game with this Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes event is to ensure that you’re moving from one objective to the next as quickly as possible to get the most bang for your buck.

When you and your buddies get cracking on an European Aerial Zone event, make sure to assign everyone a different task. This is potentially the most efficient way to go about the business of taking down as many minibosses as possible. Don’t waste your time on the small fry; you’re going to want to make sure that you the minibosses and the subsequent boss spawn are taken out as quickly as possible.

Once you’ve taken down the minibosses and the boss, your team will be blessed with a veritable rainfall of loot which scales based on how many of the former you were able to get rid of before the timer counted down. Needless to say, it’s smart to split the party again so that you can cover as much ground as possible and get as many chests open as you can. Rewards accrued from these chests in the European Aerial Zone are available to all players and not only the Guardian who opens a chest, so there’s nothing to be gained strategically from sticking together.

Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes: European Aerial Zone Rewards

If you’ve been successful in making the most of what the European Aerial Zone has to offer, then you’ll be rewarded with Solstice Packages and Solstice Key Fragments. You’re going to have to combine Key Fragments together to unlock those Packages, and opening these goodies up will get you gear, armor, and planetary materials. The loot is all part of the fun of the Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes event, and this is the quickest way to access most of it, though those wanting to crack open as many Packages as possible will be able to farm those Fragments from other activities like the elemental bounties, other public events, and patrols.

Now that we’ve given you a rundown of how the European Aerial Zone works, it’s time to round up some friends and take to the skies this Solstice! If that’s not quite your cup of tea, then perhaps spending some time with Calus and embarking on the never-ending hunt for Tributes might be more your speed? If so, our Destiny 2 Tribute Hall guide will make sure you’re prepared for whatever the Emperor might throw your way.
