Destiny 2’s first DLC, Curse of Osiris brings quite a few new toys for players to get their hands on. One of these weapons has taken the community by storm, and many players have begun to herald it as the most powerful weapon in Destiny 2. Of course, that means a lot of people have been wondering how to get the Prometheus Lens in the game so they can join in on the fun. In this article we’ll show you everything you need to know to obtain the Prometheus Lens, an Exotic Trace Rifle in Destiny 2.
How to Acquire the Prometheus Lens
Like most Exotic weapons in Destiny 2, the Prometheus Lens is quite a beast to trifle with. In fact, many players have heralded it as the most powerful gun to ever be available in the game, with some even going so far as to call it the most powerful weapon to ever be found in the Destiny universe, period. No matter how you feel about Trace Rifles, though, the Prometheus Lens is indeed a good weapon to have in your arsenal, and today we’re going to tell you everything you need to know to get your hands on it.
Unfortunately, there isn’t really a tried and tested way to get your hands on the Prometheus Lens, and you’ll have to rely on Exotic Engram drops in order to acquire this outstanding weapon. The best way to acquire Exotic Engrams is going to be to head out into the game world and start taking on the game’s biggest challenges, like Heroic Strikes, the Raid, and even the Nightfall.
Prometheus Lens Perks
So what makes The Prometheus Lens so special? Well, right off the bat there are two important perks that really set this gun above the rest, and we’ve outlined them both below.
The first perk to take into account on the Prometheus Lens is the Prismatic Inferno perk, which fires a Solar trace beam and generates a damaging heat field that slowly grows while the weapon continues to fire. This means that the weapon’s damage modifier will grow constantly as you fire it, making the beam more and more powerful.
The second perk is the Flame Retraction perk, which grants a fraction of the weapon’s ammo back to the weapon with each kill, granting an increased duration for the beam.
When you combine these two perks together, you get a weapon that’s beyond anything the game has ever seen, and many players have been baffled by just how good this weapon is.
