If you’ve been cracking into Pokemon GO, then there’s no doubt that Darkrai has caught your eye. It’s certainly caught ours, and you might have already checked out our guide on how to catch Darkrai. This Mythical Pokemon isn’t that long for our world, though, and you’ve got one last day to get your mitts on it. However, some enterprising folk are wondering if a Darkrai trade in Pokemon GO is a feasible last-minute option. Here’s what we know so far.
Darkrai Trade Pokemon GO Guide – Is It Possible?
Darkrai has Mythical status in Pokemon Go. For those who aren’t quite sure what that designation means, it was essentially used to tag Pokemon who were a limited-time occurrence and who don’t appear in regular raids. Darkrai is a bit of an outlier there as one who shows up in said regular raids despite being Mythical. Generally, Pokemon like this can’t be traded – you have to earn them the hard way. You can trade Meltan, but that seems to be the only exception to the standard rule for Mythical Pokemon.
From what we know at this stage, after the community’s woes, it’s unfortunately impossible to trade Darkrai. If you don’t manage to catch this Pokemon in this batch of raids, then you’re going to have to have your fingers crossed that the next lot that comes around has Darkrai sitting pretty, waiting to be challenged. This probably doesn’t come as a huge surprise considering the way that the other Mythical Pokemon are treated, but it wasn’t entirely unreasonable for players to get their hopes up that this would be yet another exception.
