CS2 Weekly Care Package Explained

No, there isn't an AC-130 in this one.

Counter-Strike 2 has made a ton of different changes to its predecessor, CS:GO. The new smoke system is just one part of that, seeing smokes play a much more dynamic role with the ability to fill up space and be shot through. One more change that’s more geared toward casual players can be very confusing though. Here’s what the Weekly Care Package does in CS2, and how to use it.

What is the Weekly Care Package in CS2?

The Weekly Care Package is the new leveling reward system for CS2. You’ll receive a Care Package reward every time you gain a level in CS2, which is earned by playing until the end of any mode. This will let you choose two of four available options for that week. After that, you can’t earn any further rewards for this week. For example, in my above image, I picked a Recoil Case and Dual Berettas and can no longer get either of the graffiti. Oh the horror.

If you’re looking to farm these Care Packages, you’ll want to play until you’ve leveled up once each week. The weekly reset occurs every Tuesday evening (around 5-6 PM PT), through which the rewards and weekly XP bonuses will be reset. If you play a few games each week, you should be almost guaranteed to get two of the drops. While it is a shame that you can’t get the additional two rewards, you wouldn’t be using those other two anyway. Now get out there and secure your free case so you can open a blue and have an excuse to yell at Gabe.
