CS2 Premier Ranks Compared to CSGO Competitive Matchmaking Ranks – Rank Distribution Explained

How good (or bad) are we at this game, really?

Back in the day, we’ve had dozens of ranks for competitive matchmaking that we’ve gotten used to and knew our place. These days, Premier rankings messed everything up. Let’s have a look at the rank distribution in Premier mode and how they compare to the old CSGO competitive matchmaking ranks.

Can You Reset Your Premier Rank in CS2?

Yes, you can reset your Premier Rank in CS2. I’ve found out about that accidentally. When I started playing CS2 after the official release, I kept getting Global Elite-level players (realistically speaking, I was always between MG and LEM, so I’m pretty casual and couldn’t handle that level). I got pulverized heavily and wanted to see how low I could go, but unfortunately, my PC died. I couldn’t play for a month, and my rank was reset due to inactivity. After winning a match on my new PC, I got a new rating that was 10,000 points higher than my previously known rating, so the “climb from the bottom” project had to be scrapped.
