While playing Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, you may notice that you can see the usernames of other players. Likewise, other players have the ability to see your username.
If you enjoy the funny, creative usernames people have in the game and are wondering whether you can change your own username in Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, here’s what you need to know.
Can You Change Your Username in Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout?
In Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout you can’t change your username in-game just yet, but you can change your username on platforms like Steam and have that change reflected in the game.
Note that because of exploits to the profile name system that either broke the game or displayed offensive terms in-game, all Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout players on PC have been given a generic username for the time being.
In the future, it’s possible your username will continue to be based off of your Steam profile name, or the developers may add a username section to the game itself.
It sounds like it’d be less problematic to have an in-game username system as the developers would have greater control over banned words in player usernames.
If you’re playing Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout on PS4 you won’t have to worry about a generic profile name as your in-game username is based off your PSN ID.
That said, it’s much harder to change your PSN ID in contrast to your Steam profile name and there are more restrictions in place.
Despite the generic username issue for PC players, it can still be fun to change your Steam username regardless of whether it displays in a game like Fall Guys or not.
To change your username on Steam, simply navigate to your Steam profile and click on “Edit Profile” at the top right corner.
After selecting “Edit Profile” you’ll see a section for profile name and you’re free to delete what’s in there and add something new.
You can also give your Steam profile a custom URL and specify your real name which is nice as it’ll make it easier for your friends to know who you are after you change your profile name, especially if you’re changing your profile name on a regular basis.
While playing on PS4, your PSN ID is what’s used as your display name in Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. You can change your PSN ID but you’re only allowed to do this for free once. After that, you’ll need to pay for PSN ID changes.
To change your PSN ID you’ll need to head to the PlayStation Network Account Management section, select PSN Profile, and change your PSN ID here.
You can choose whether you want to display your new PSN ID on its own, or display your previous PSN ID next to your new one for 30 days.
If you’ve previously changed your PSN ID for free, you may need to pay for the next PSN ID change. Given the cost and hassle of changing your PSN ID, we advise against changing your PSN ID for Fall Guys on its own.
Once you get sick of the name you’ve chosen on PS4, you’ll have a much harder time changing it to something else later on.
Furthermore, we can’t rule out the possibility of an in-game username system being added to Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout in the future. If that happens, it won’t matter what your Steam profile name or PSN ID are.
Again, your username in Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is based off of your profile name on Steam (something that’s been temporarily disabled due to exploits) and your PSN ID on PS4.
