Can You Catch on Fire in LEGO Fortnite? – Answered

Is it hot in here or is it just me?

LEGO Fortnite pulls no punches in Survival Mode with the usual natural hazards, dozens of enemies and many other dangerous things you could run into. It wouldn’t be surprising if you could even burn to your death by stepping on a campfire by accident, but does that happen?

Can You Burn in LEGO Fortnite?

Stepping in a campfire or even on lava won’t set you on fire. You don’t have to worry about persistent fire damage if you take a bad step into danger, but your health will still suffer a bit, especially if you’ve stepped on lava, but you stop taking damage as soon as you step out of it.

What can happen (and will happen, if you’re not careful enough) is burning to death due to climate. While the norm is to worry about freezing to your death, the opposite is just as dangerous and could be lethal if you don’t do something about it.

Scorching areas such as Lava Caves will increase your temperature levels to astonishing levels, and this will lead you to a slow, painful death in a few minutes while you’re forced to see the repeated message telling you that “you are burning”.

To avoid overheating, your best alternative is to bring a ton of Snow Berries which help you regulate your body temperature to acceptable levels. They’ll work for a few minutes until you need to eat more of them, so don’t spend them recklessly. Snowberry Shakes are an even better choice, but those can be harder to make. The regular fruit will do just fine, don’t worry.

But you’ll need to face those harsh caves sooner or later if you want to seek out some of its valuable resources such as Obsidian. But if you’re still at the beginning of your journey and can barely get rid of some pesky spiders, you might as well keep your distance from them for a while.
