If you’ve been enjoying Borderlands 3 in the wake of picking it up for cheap during the festive season, then you might be cracking into the side quests that have you looting and shooting your way around the galaxy. Whether it’s aiding Claptrap or civilians, you can expect some bang for your buck when it comes to variety here in these optional missions. Here’s our guide to the Borderlands 3 Maliwannabees side quest, if you’re so inclined.
Borderlands 3 Maliwannabees Side Quest Walkthrough
You’ll be able to access the Borderlands 3 Maliwannabees side quest after you’ve knocked through the story quest called Hostile Takeover. You’ll be kicking around Promethea at this time, but if you want to pick up this quest, you’ll have to head to the Meridian Outskirts and look for an NPC called Ziff. The first thing you might notice is that while Ziff is clearly on a revenge trip, they’re not exactly… confident about who to get revenge on.
Undoubtedly, this means that you’re going to get the chance to make a decision at some point. Once you get the quest from Ziff, you’re going to want to loop around to the location indicated on your map as the ‘murder scene’. You don’t need to be particularly eagle-eyed to see the bodies, and entering the area will prompt you to find a supply vehicle. You’re going to want to keep trucking forward to find this one – it’s helpfully ablaze, which will let you know that something’s wrong.
Once you’ve started putting two and two together and gone up to the doomed vehicle, you’ll be directed to a lift which will need you to put down a bunch of Psychos and other Enforcer enemies too. There will also be two bosses – Rax and Max – identifiable by the fact that they’ll have shields. These are the objects of Ziff’s revenge fantasy, and he won’t really care which one you kill. Here, pick one, and go to town before taking care of the other enemies that will hang about. After you’ve cleared out the place, head back to the Outskirts and to Ziff for your reward of some cash and experience. Unfortunately, you won’t be getting any cool weapons from this.
