The holidays are a good time to be a BDO player. The upcoming patch promises a new region expansion, holiday events, and a nice new update to PvP.
Black Desert Online November Update: Region Expansion, Holiday Events, and More
Black Desert Online’s ever-expanding world is getting a little bit bigger. This holiday, we’ll be getting quite a bit of new content, from a brand-new monster zone to a chance to fight your buddies one on one. This update is expected to go live on November 29.
Black Desert Online: New Region Expansion and Questline
The desert region Ulukita will receive a brand-new monster zone called Darkseekers Retreat. This zone will be found in the southern region and build on the previous zones, The City of the Dead and the Tungrad Ruins.
It’s here you can continue Prince Bareeds III’s questline. We met this prince all the way back in 2015, after he fled his kingdom as the last survivor of the royal family. Players can dive in and investigate the feud that’s been building between the Prince and the Premier, which will culminate in an end boss.
Darkseekers Retreat will also be the place to source materials to make Ator’s Shoes. Ator’s Shoes offer two abilities to choose from: damage reduction or evasion. And that will be quite helpful if you’re thinking of diving into PvP.
Black Desert Online: PvP Practice Mode and 3v3
The developers have heard the prayers of PvP players. You’ll now be able to host your own custom matches, which will let you create your own teams and turn off matchmaking.
A new 3v3 match-type for Ranked or Practice matches will also hit the servers. You can expect to earn rewards such as silver and pearls for besting and competing against friends and strangers alike.
Black Desert Online: Holiday Events
For the next few weeks, BDO will be hosting a series of events, making this the best month possible to grind out those materials, weapons, and even Outfit Boxes.
Thanksgiving Hunt
Players can enter the two-week Thanksgiving hunting event (beginning Wednesday, November 22 through Wednesday, December 6) to defeat wild Turkeys and earn the Blessing of Abundance Buff and Turkey Feathers. The latter can be exchanged for Dream Horse awakening materials at Velia.
Rock Collecting
Starting on November 22 and ending on December 6, players may stumble across ‘Rocks of Abundance’. These rocks can be found while hunting, gathering, or fishing.
Based on the cumulative number of Rocks of Abundance gathered across all regions, Adventurers will be rewarded with items like Shakatu’s Splendid Box, 500 Cron Stones, and Exciting Adventure Outfit Box.
Thousand Hearts Flutter Event
Starting on December 6, players will be able to obtain Daring Calpheon Seals. You can do this by simply logging on for 30 minutes to 120 minutes each day. These Seals can then be used to enter an instant raffle, where the rewards vary but promise to be very rewarding.
Players who don’t win items can get ‘Inspiring Calpheon Coins’ (100% chance), exchangeable for various rewards, such as the vaunted J’s Hammer of Loyalty.
