When Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 launched, there were a few assault rifles that dominated the game, and the STB 556 was certainly one of them. As time has gone on, and Ranked Play formed a definitive meta, players may have forgotten about the classic AUG assault rifle.
There’s a reason that the STB 556 was banned in the Call of Duty League well before Ranked Play existed though, and it’s still super strong in standard MW2 Multiplayer. In this quickplay loadout, we’ll cover all of the attachments you need to stomp public matches with ease.
COD MW2 Season 2 Reloaded – Best STB 556 Loadout
We want to keep the build on the STB similar to weapons like the TAQ-56. The loadout should be focused on stabilizing the recoil so we can maintain accuracy, while also keeping decent mobility. Without both, winning fights will quickly get frustrating. All of the necessary attachments can be found below.
STB 556 Season 2 Reloaded Loadout
- Muzzle: Komodo Heavy
- Barrel: 24.4″ Bruen S-620
- Underbarrel: Edge-47 Grip
- Rear Grip: Bruen Q900 Grip
- Stock: Bruen MX9 Stock
Three of the attachments here are meant for recoil control. We have the Komodo Heavy muzzle, the 24.4″ Bruen S-620 barrel, and the Edge-47 Grip to help with our accuracy. You can swap out the barrel for a lighter version if you feel that the weapon isn’t mobile enough. Also, make sure to tune the muzzle for gun kick control.

The other two attachments are the Bruen Q900 Grip rear grip and the Bruen MX9 Stock. Both of these will help add more mobility such as ADS and sprint to fire time. They are integral to close-quarters fights and can help balance the STB 556 barrel in COD MW2.
