Another season means another submachine gun to use in Modern Warfare 3, and this time it’s the RAM-9. This weapon is just a smaller version of the RAM-7 that arrived last season and I have the perfect loadout for you to try out in your next match.
Best Loadout for the RAM-9 in MW3:
- Muzzle: L4R Flash Hider.
- Underbarrel: XTEN Phantom-5 Handstop.
- Rear Grip: Retort 90 Grip Tape.
- Stock: Hunker-5 Stock Pad.
- Ammunition: 9mm High Grain Rounds.
On this build, I skipped the barrel because the only good one provides bullet velocity and damage range at the cost of recoil control. Well, the 9mm High Grain Rounds provide more range and less of a hit to control, which just makes them a better option overall. These essentially serve as the barrel for the weapon.
For control attachments without an ADS penalty, we have the Retort Grip Tape and the XTEN Phantom-5 Handstop. Both of these will boost our accuracy and the handstop even helps with some ADS speed. We need to help reverse some of the kick but also retain the submachine gun characteristics of the RAM-9.
The last two attachments will add some more control at the cost of ADS speed. However, they only amount to a 15% penalty. With the Phantom, that only means about a 4% increase in ADS speed overall. But the Stock Pad and the L4R Flash Hider make it far better at medium range.
How to Unlock the RAM-9 in MW3
You can unlock the RAM-9 by reaching Sector B6 in the Battle Pass. If you head directly to that Sector, it will take you 15 Battle Pass Tokens to earn. Otherwise, it completely depends on which items you unlock first.
You can buy the Blackcell Battle Pass or an upcoming store bundle to instantly get the RAM-9 in MW3 Season 2, but the standard path is free. There is no reason to pay if all you want os the new weapon without cosmetics.
After you get the new SMG, make your way to the BP50 assault rifle.
