Best Counters For The Decidueye Tera Raid In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Decidueye is a grass/ghost typing, and this seven-star version has a flying Tera Type. This means you’ll want to bring an Electric or Ice Pokemon. Remember that while the Tera Type is flying, Decidueye’s move set will consist of grass and ghost typing, so be sure your Pokemon are not weak to those moves. Decidueye will run from March 17 through March 19, 2023.

Iron Hands

Iron Hands is a great option for Decidueye because it is not weak to any of the moves Decidueye has, and it can use powerful electric attacks like Thunder Punch. Since Decidueye’s base defense is low, a move like Thunder Punch can deal massive damage. Pair this up with Belly Drum, and you should be able to make quick work of the Pokemon. EV train your Iron Hands in Health and Attack. You can give it a Shell Bell to give yourself some more healing options while using Belly Drum.

Miraidon

Miraidon’s electric/dragon typing makes it a powerful contender against Decidueye. We recommend using moves like Charge and Electro Drift to deal as much damage to Decidueye as possible. EV train your Miraidon in Health and Attack. You may need to use a move like Metal Sound to lower Decidueye’s Special Defense since its base stat is pretty high.

Magnezone

Magnezone is another excellent option, as its electric/steel typing will negate much of what Decidueye brings to the table. With a bulky HP state and strong defense, Magenzone can use moves like Metal Sound, Thunderbolt, and other electric and steel moves to get the job done. While the other two Pokemon above are better options for their sheer attack power, Magenzone is a strong contender if you have nothing else to go with.
