Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – How to Romance Odessa
One of the first characters that players can romance in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a woman named Odessa. Players can meet Odessa early in the game shortly after reaching the island of Ithaka. Successfully romancing Odessa can unlock the Aphrodite’s Embrace trophy if she is your first romance of the game, so you’ll want to make sure to make the right moves. In this guide, we’ll explain what you need to say and do to romance Odessa in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
In most cases, romancing characters in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey involves choosing dialogue options that have a heart next to them. However, there are some instances where the dialogue choice is not so obvious. In the case of Odessa, you will also need to complete several side quests for her as well in order to win her over.
Rescue Odessa in Ithaka
Odessa is being held captive on Ithaka, the island to the northeast of Kephallonia. She is locked in a cage not far from Odysseus’s Palace. Opening the cage to rescue Odessa will trigger the side quest called A Small Odyssey.
Upon freeing Odessa from the cage, follow her and escort her to safety. When the coast is clear, speak to Odessa and agree to help her find Odysseus’s Palace. We suggest clearing out the hostile enemies in the area beforehand to make the trek a bit easier.
Escort Odessa Through the Palace
Follow Odessa as she makes her way through Odysseus’s Palace. If you cleared out the hostile bandits here earlier, then it should be smooth sailing. Continue escorting Odessa to her boat.
When the two of you reach the shore, speak with her once more, making sure to always pick the dialogue options with the white heart icon beside them. The first of these heart dialogue options should be, “It’s cute that you’re determined.”
Find Odessa in Megaris
After the two of you part ways in Ithaka, you can encounter Odessa again shortly after reaching Megaris. She is found on a farm at the southeast side of the Valley of King Lelex. If you are arriving by ship, you can dock at the Port of Nisaia. Odessa isn’t far from there.
A Family Ordeal Side Quest
Speak to Odessa, making sure to choose the dialogue option with the heart icon that says, “I forgot how beautiful you are.” Odessa will send you on a side quest called A Family Ordeal, which involves collecting medicine for her sick father.
You can find the herbs for this side quest near the shipwreck by the Port of Nisaia. The potion can be purchased from a merchant in Megara. When you return to Odessa to give her the items, prepare to fight off some bandits who ambush the farm.
After getting rid of the bandits, speak to Odessa again, making sure to select the dialogue options with the heart icons next to them.
The True Story Side Quest
Find Odessa and strike up a conversation with her once more. When she mentions following in the footsteps of Odysseus, mention that “Odysseus was a great lover, too.” This will initiate the True Story side quest, where Odessa will send you to look for clues about who is setting her up.
Make your way into the leader’s house in Megara and search the second floor of the house. When you find the proof that Odessa needs, return to Odessa and speak with her once more.
Romance Odessa
Upon returning to speak to Odessa, pick the conversation choice with the heart icon beside it that says, “Let’s have some fun first.” In the following dialogue, make sure to avoid saying that the leader is right. When prompted, tell her that she is the victim.
Next, choose the dialogue prompt with the heart icon that reads, “Let’s journey to bed, first.” She won’t shirk your advances this time.
This should conclude the quest and trigger the romance scene with Odessa. If this is your first successful romance in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, then this will also unlock the Aphrodite’s Embrace trophy.
After romancing Odessa, you can ask her to join your ship crew and hire her as a special lieutenant. You will also earn Odessa’s Bow, which features 5% CRIT damage. For more gameplay tips, head over to our full Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Guide.
