Apex Legends Season 4 Tier List

Apex Legends season 4 is here, here's what you need to know before picking your main.

Apex Legends has some exceptional Legends in the popular free-to-play battle royale game from Respawn Entertainment, and that list of characters continues to grow with each season. Some are better than others and some require alone time before getting comfy with their skills, but for those curious, we’ve compiled the Apex Legends season 4 tier list for your viewing pleasure.

Apex Legends Season 4 Tier List

S-Tier

So let’s start with the creme de la creme with the S Tier legends! First up, we’ve got Gibraltar. Actually, he’s the only one up for this tier, so that makes that decision easy. A big reason for this particular Legend being the king of all is due to the fact that’s a tank in every sense of the word outside of being the actual vehicle: a tank. He’s got incredible defense, which makes him a great character to have on the team, especially so when others are down and out. This also makes him the optimal character to have equipped when in close spaces, especially so when the final moments of a match on going on.

The downside to this character is that he’s got a large hitbox so while he’s wrangling somebody up close, that gives enemies from afar the perfect opportunity to get in some shots from a safe distance. This is where teamwork will come into play, protect each other and you actually end up protecting yourself.

A-Tier

Unlike the S-Tier, A-Tier has a few more options for those looking for some wiggle room. Among the three are Wraith, Lifeline, and Pathfinder, so let’s start with our favorite healer first: Lifeline. Lifeline is not only a favorite because of her bubbly personality and adorable nature, she’s also a massive badass with heals for days. She’s great at drawing out enemy players and helping out teammates in a pinch, which makes her a must-have for any team comp.

Pathfinder is another favorite. This emoji-loving robot basically has the world at his feet with his grappling ability and speed. He can always take the high ground (so take that, Anakin) and he can be almost anywhere at a drop of the hat. Teammate in trouble? He’ll be there. Need a scout? He’s got that too. Pathfinder is one of the most well-rounded Legends on the roster currently.

Next up with have Wraith. Even though she’s gone through some massive changes since launch, some of those changes being not-so-popular with players, she’s still a huge asset to a team due to her movement ability and her incredibly tiny hitbox (a good juxtaposition to Gibraltar). For those that are fans of rogue-type characters, her trapping ability makes her a phenomenal addition as well and really, she should be S-Tier but Respawn just loves taking her down notches.

B-Tier

B-Tier Legends include Bangalore, Bloodhound, and Mirage. Mirage deserves better, in my humble opinion, because he’s a master at playing tricks on enemy players. With his decoy abilities on-hand, he can easily manipulate a dangerous situation in his favor and he’s a master at escape as well. Just … if you’re not super comfy with him, I’d recommend NOT taking him to do up-close-and-personal quite yet. His talents lie in confusion and tactical retreat, NOT acting like he’s a tank.

Bloodhound got a little supped up during the beginning of the latest season and it’s because of those positive changes that players will see he’s moved up in the world. His Beast of the Hunt buff is crucial to his value by extending his ability time. If you’re really good as Bloodhound, you can extend that buff even further by knocking down several enemies one after another – great for landing in a highly populated area or for that final push when the circle is the smallest.

Bangalore is my personal favorite and she, too, deserves better. Respawn, for the most part, has left her largely alone in terms of changes, but her smoke launcher makes her gucci as all heck. This ability can be used to get out of a tricky situation, used to divert enemy attention, and so much more. She’s the Soldier 76 of Apex Legends: not much changes, which means she’s always reliable.

C-Tier

Surprisingly enough, Revenant is C-tier. The latest Legend who literally murdered his way onto the scene was set up to be one of the most powerful players in the game but right now? He’s just not. That could change, he’s still new, but his skillset is very particular, which means he’s not as adaptable as other fighters on the roster. That, and his Ult, the Death Totem, was massively oversold during the marketing of the newest Legend. Great in theory, disappointing IRL.

Octane is another C-lister. He’s a quick-on-his-feet kinda guy but with his entire identity being centered around his speed, he should be the fastest character on the roster and he’s just not. He’s one of those characters that has loads of potential that Respawn just doesn’t seem to be acting on for some reason.

Final C-lister is Caustic, another personal favorite of mine. You want traps? He’s got ’em, but that only works for so long. With all of the recent map changes, being able to trap an enemy player within an enclosed space isn’t as easy as it once was, which means Caustic has fallen in terms of importance and value to a team comp. Oh, and you’re definitely going to want to keep him away from plain site – he’s an easy character to pick off.

D-Tier (dat D tho)

Oh, Wattson, BOO BOO. She’s beauty, she’s grace, she’ll shock ya in your face – but unfortunately, that’s not always enough at it’s why she’s at the bottom of the barrel with Crypto. She was massively tinkered with in season 3, making the skills that made her valuable much less so. With how massive the new map is for Apex Legends, all of those changes really hurt her as a character.

Crypto is a character I play a lot solely because I dig his style, I’m not ashamed to admit that. Unfortunately, his skill set is a little too specific when it comes to the game, especially with Season 4’s changes. Let’s just call Crypto the hippy of the bunch and move on: he’s pretty to look at, but that’s just about it.

Tier lists are always subject to change and as Respawn does more and more with the world they’ve created, we’re interested in seeing how this list evolves.
