In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, when you wish on a star, you can end up with some unique new items. Here’s what to do if you’re looking for, or if you’ve ended up with, some Taurus fragments.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Taurus Fragments Guide
One of the random events that can occur on your island in New Horizons is a meteor shower. If there’s one set to happen that night, Isabelle will mention it during her morning announcements. If you go out that night, make sure your character’s hands are empty and you can make a wish as a shooting star flies by. Press A as the star passes, and if you got the timing right, you’ll hear a ping sound and the star will flash.
The next morning, you’ll find a number of star fragments washed up on your island’s shore. Normal and large star fragments are crafting materials for wands, which are an ideal tool to carry around if you like the idea of being able to quick-change into different outfits. Star fragments can also be sold at Nook’s Cranny for 250 or 2,500 Bells, although the large star fragments are rare enough that you probably don’t want to waste them on a vendor.
If you wish upon a star, you may also find an even rarer item: a Zodiac star fragment. There are 12 possible variations here, based around the corresponding star sign to the period of time in which the meteor shower occurred. It’s currently Taurus season, and will be until May 20th, so during that period of time, you may find Taurus fragments on your shores after you wish upon a star. Starting on May 21st, any Zodiac fragments you find will be Gemini. You can always “time-travel” to try and farm a specific type of Zodiac fragment, but naturally, there’s no way to guarantee you’ll see a meteor shower within a specific 30-day period.
Zodiac fragments can be vendored at Nook’s Cranny for 500 Bells each. They’re primarily used to create the Zodiac furniture set, the recipes for which can be obtained from Celeste on your island when she shows up to watch the meteor shower. You can also show one of the Zodiac fragments to Celeste, and she’ll tell you a story that relates back to that Zodiac sign.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons‘s Zodiac furniture all looks a little strange, although I suppose if you’ve ever wanted to take a bath inside a charging bull, the Taurus tub is your only real option for that incredibly specific desire.
