Starfield: All Skill Magazine Locations

Some games reward you for meticulously looting every single room you come across. That’s the case for Starfield, where you can be rewarded with magazines that can permanently increase your skills. Here’s a quick rundown of each magazine and its location, followed by an in-depth guide on how to find it below.

This is a very late-stage mission which will give you access to the Syndicate Hideout. Once you’re in the Syndicate Hideout, go to the second floor. Loop back around towards the front door, and you’ll find the Syndicate dorms. Inside the dorm, on a table beside the bunks, will be the magazine.

Once you enter the clinic, you’ll swiftly find yourself in the entry room (not the reception room), which includes a front desk and a kiosk to the Trade Union. Opposite the front desk is a few chairs against the wall and a small table. On this table is the magazine.

More to the point, it sends you to the Abandoned Mining Complex in Ananke, which is full of Crimson Fleet Pirates. Once you’ve gone through the airlock into the mining facility, you’ll find yourself in a brown and grey office space. There will be some stairs that lead downward, but to your left will be a door. • Nova Galactic Manual 02: Reduces fuel need for a grav jump by 1%. Location to be announced.
  • Nova Galactic Manual 03: Reduces fuel need for a grav jump by 1%. This is one of the earliest magazines you can pick up. Head to the MAST District of Jemison. From there, find the MAST building, which is huge and grey. It also sits above the trolley system. Once you’ve found the MAST building, board the elevator and select “Cabinet Chambers / Interstellar Affairs.” When you leave the elevator, turn left, and you’ll see the Office of Interstellar Affairs. Enter, then turn right, bypassing a series of cubicles. Make your way to the very back, and you’ll find a stone office belonging to Deputy Elisabeth Macintyre. The magazine will be located on the coffee table to the left of her desk. Alternatively, you can find it on The Almagest, an abandoned casino ship in the orbit of Nesoi in the Olympus system. It’s on the second floor, behind the desk with the series of locked chests.

Peak Performance Locations in Starfield

  • Peak Performance 01: Increases carrying capacity by 5kg. The most convenient time to grab Peak Performance is while you’re completing the main storyline quest, Into the Unknown. This quest will bring you to Procyon III and into the Deserted UC Listening Post. This Listening Post is absolutely crawling with Crimson Fleet. But on the first floor, you’ll find a closed office beside a set of stairs that will lead you to the lower floor. Enter this office and go straight ahead to find a desk with a stack of board games and the Peak Performance Magazine.
Tip:

You’ll acquire the quest Into the Unknown automatically as you progress through the main story. It is given to you after completing the first two main quests. It’s recommended that you do this quest first, as it gives you the Anti-Gravity Field ability, which is useful in combat.

  • Peak Performance 02: Increases carrying capacity by 5kg. Look, I know this is going to make me sound insane. But there are two identical listening posts on entirely different planets. Procyon III is where you’ll find issue 1, and issue 2 is located in the UC Deserted Listening Post on Mithras. You’ll hit Mithras as part of the main quest (“Further into the Unknown), but the UC Deserted Listening Post will be an “unknown” marker on the far reaches of the planet. For me, it was just past the Chemical / Volcanic Vent scan and the ARC Might Worker outpost. Once inside the UC Listening Post, expect to encounter Crimson Fleet. To find the magazine, locate the kitchen, then the stairs. Right beside the stairs will be a closed office. And on the desk in this closed office? Peak Performance 02.
  • Peak Performance 03: Buff and location to be announced.
  • Peak Performance 04: Increases carrying capacity by 5kg. Location to be announced.
  • Peak Performance 05: Buff and location to be announced.

Solomon’s Adventures Locations in Starfield

  • Solomon’s Adventures 01: Increases weapon damage at night by 5%. Location to be announced.
  • Solomon’s Adventures 02: Increases weapon damage at night by 5%. Location to be announced.
  • Solomon’s Adventures 03: Increases weapon damage at night by 5%. Location to be announced.
  • Solomon’s Adventures 04: Increases weapon damage at night by 5%. Location to be announced.
  • Solomon’s Adventures 05: Increases weapon damage at night by 5%. So, when it comes to locations on a planet, many non-vital locations are randomized. That means that the Helium-3 Extraction Site location for me will not be the same for you. And, unfortunately, Hyla has quite a few random points of interest. Once you do find the Helium-3 Extraction Site, head inside after defeating all the spacers and go to the bottom floor. It will be a makeshift bunk/kitchen area. On the sole table will be some beers and Solomon’s Adventure 05. Note: check out the bathroom while you’re down there. If you have a concealed cargo hold, there’s also some Blackmarket Antiquities worth a pretty credit.

The New Atlantian Locations in Starfield

  • The New Atlantian 01: Grants the recipe for The Deep food item. Before I stumbled across this magazine, I had no idea that it’d offer benefits like teaching you how to cook. And if gastronomy is your passion, this magazine is easy to grab. Head to Tau Ceti II. Almost immediately to your left upon exiting the ship, you’ll find an unmarked settlement. If it’s not there, you’ll need to find the building that near Tau Gourmet Production Center. There will be a dead settler outside. Go inside from the first floor, through the door that’s facing your ship. Once you’re inside, you’ll pass through the foyer and into a larger room. To your right, against the far wall, will be a desk. On the desk is The New Atlantian. Bon appetit!
  • The New Atlantian 02: Grants the recipe for Panache food item. Location to be announced.
  • The New Atlantian 03: Grants the recipe for Astral Sliders food item. Location to be announced.
  • The New Atlantian 04: Grants the recipe for Beer Brat Platter food item. This magazine can be found in the prisoner reform community The Elos Retreat. The Elos Retreat is located on Ixyll II in the Ixyll System. Once you’re inside the Retreat, head to the very back, past the giant mineral in the pool. To your right will be a series of bedrooms. This magazine is located in the first bedroom on the nightstand.

  • The New Atlantian 05: Grants the recipe for Shepherds Pie food item. Location to be announced.

Trackers Primers Locations in Starfield

  • Trackers Primers 01: Buff and location to be announced.
  • Trackers Primers 02: Increases ballistic weapon damage by 5%. Pilgrim’s Rest is one of those locations you’ll find as part of the main quest, Unity. But if you want to grab this one early, head to the Indum System and select Pilgrim’s Rest as a location. If it’s not a default location for you, you may have to search it out. Once you’ve found Pilgrim’s Rest, the magazine will be locked in the Pilgrim’s bedroom, and you’ll need to answer several questions. The answers are, “What is Unity?”, “People are necessary. People are madness”, and finally, “Compassion.” With the door unlocked, you’ll find the magazine on top of a nearby shelf.
  • Trackers Primers 03: Buff and location to be announced.
  • Trackers Primers 04: Buff and location to be announced.
  • Trackers Primers 05: Increases EM weapon damage by 5%. Back to the beginning! Vectera is where we first began the game. But to pick up this magazine, I highly recommend that you wait until you get the main mission quest, “Back to Vectera.” This will give you access to the building Trackers Primer 05 is in. When the quest guides you to “Fix the Comms Computer,” you’ll be inside the miner building. You’ll find yourself facing an orange door, but don’t open it yet. Instead, open the grey door to your left, which will lead you to the dorms. In the second bunk area, on the shared nightstand, will be Trackers Primer 05. Alternatively, you can find it at the Red Mile on Porrima III, in the Porrima System. You’ll come to this planet naturally as part of the Freestar Collective faction quest. Just head upstairs to the hotel rooms. It’s in the second one, on the nightstand beside the bed.

UC Defense Manual Locations in Starfield

  • UC Defense Manual 01: Slightly increases magazine size and weapon bash critical chance for all Allied Armaments guns. Location to be announced.
  • UC Defense Manual 02: Slightly increases magazine size and weapon bash critical chance for all Allied Armaments guns. This might be our first magazine in space! It can be found on the The Den, a space station orbiting Chthonia in the Wolf System, just East of Sol. Once you’re on The Den, head right and enter an office. This office leads into a dorm room with two bunks. Between these bunks are shelves, and the one second to the bottom contains the magazine. Alternatively, you can find a copy of this magazine in 1-of-a-Kind Salvage on Niira.
  • UC Defense Manual 03: Slightly increases magazine size and weapon bash critical chance for all Allied Armaments guns. Location to be announced.
  • UC Defense Manual 04: Slightly increases magazine size and weapon bash critical chance for all Allied Armaments guns. Location to be announced.
  • UC Defense Manual 05: Slightly increases magazine size and weapon bash critical chance for all Allied Armaments guns. Location to be announced.

Vanguard Space Tactics Locations in Starfield

  • Vanguard Space Tactics 01: Ship energy weapons deal 5% more damage. Location to be announced.
  • Vanguard Space Tactics 02: Ship energy weapons 5% more damage. I strongly suspect that there’s an easier, more accessible way to grab a copy of this magazine. That being said, you can get Vanguard Space Tactics 02 by joining the United Colonies faction in New Atlantis. You’ll need to complete Supra Et Ultra, Grunt Work, and almost complete Delivering Devils. Delivering Devils will take you to Mars, where you’ll need to find the scientist Percival. Percival is in the Red Devil HQ, which is accessed through the Abandoned Mine on Mars. You know, the same Abandoned Mine where you can grab Va’Ruun Scripture 10. to get inside the Red Devil HQ, you’ll need the key given to you by an NPC related to this quest. Once you’re in the Red Devil HQ, head to the bottom floor. From here, it can be difficult to navigate. But you’ll be in a large, open area broken up by columns and stairs. Head to the far wall left of where you entered the Red Devil HQ. You’ll find a wall with a series of monitors on it. In front of these monitors is a desk, and on the desk is Vanguard Space Tactics 02.
  • Vanguard Space Tactics 03: Ship energy weapons deal 5% more damage. Found in The Colander, the abandoned ship orbiting Schrodinger III in the Schrodinger System. You can find it on the first floor of the ship. From the entrance, head right, past the bunks. When you get to the other end of the ship, you’ll find yourself in the control room and Captain’s Quarters. The magazine Vanguard Space Tactics 03 will be beside Sarah P.’s terminal.
  • Vanguard Space Tactics 04: Ship energy weapons deal 5% more damage. Location to be announced.
  • Vanguard Space Tactics 05: Ship energy weapons deal 5% more damage. Location to be announced.

  • Va’ruun Scripture 05: Increases sneak bonus by 1% and melee sneak attack damage by 5%. Location to be announced.
  • Va’ruun Scripture 06: Increases sneak bonus by 1% and melee sneak attack damage by 5%. Va’Runn Scripture 06 can be found in two places: In New Atlantis on Jemison and in the Abandoned Mine on Mars. To grab this magazine on Jemison, you’ll actually need to get to the penultimate mission in the United Colonies faction storyline to access the Va’Ruun Embassy, where this magazine is. Thus, it’s better to grab it on Mars. If you opt to find it at the Va’Ruun Embassy, expect to find it right after the first MK Turret you encounter on the smokey blue path. You’ll enter a waiting room full of Va’Ruun Robots. There, on the table in front of the red couch, will be the magazine.
  • Va’ruun Scripture 07: Increases sneak bonus by 1% and melee sneak attack damage by 5%. Location to be announced.
  • Va’ruun Scripture 08: Increases sneak bonus by 1% and melee sneak attack damage by 5%. Location to be announced.
  • Va’ruun Scripture 09: Increases sneak bonus by 1% and melee sneak attack damage by 5%. Location to be announced.
  • Va’ruun Scripture 10: Increases sneak bonus by 1% and melee sneak attack damage by 5%. Increases sneak bonus by 1% and melee sneak attack damage by 5%. Mars is one of the first planets you’ll go to, and this is a good place to pick up both a magazine and early experience. From Cydonia, head south, and you’ll eventually hit the Abandoned Mine. Once inside, you’ll need to access the Abandoned Mine proper. Once inside the Abandoned Mine, you’ll find yourself in a large chamber. Clear out this large chamber, then move into a smaller chamber with a metal platform that contains two rooms. One room is the gym, the other is an office space. On the central island of this office space will be Va’Ruun Scripture 10.
