All Rewards from Special Coaches in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Indigo Disk

We might not have a battle tower, but we do have Special Coaches! Special Coaches can be unlocked by going to the League Classroom in the Blueberry Academy and approaching the terminal. There, you’ll get a prompt to call a ‘Special Coach.’

The first time you fight them, they’ll give you a distinct or strong item, from a phone case to a rare berry. During their second battle, they’ll give you either a stat-boosting item, an Exp. Candy, or a Nugget.

You won’t have to fight them the third time. Instead, speak to them, and they’ll offer to trade you a low-level version of one of their Pokemon. The Pokemon you’ll receive will come at a variety of levels (5 – 40) and the Partner Ribbon.

Once you’ve traded Pokemon, you’ll have maxed out that Special Coach, though you can continue calling them and battling them.

How to Unlock all Special Coaches in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Indigo Disk

After you’ve invited and traded with three people, you will unlock Clavell and Jacq. You can still only have two people in the League Classroom. The wording here is confusing.

After you’ve invited and traded with five people, you will unlock Rika and Poppy.

After you’ve invited and traded with eight people, you will unlock Geeta.

After you max out the Elite Four, Clavell, and Jacq, you can unlock the Secret Boss in the “Contribute BP” menu. This will cost you 10 BP. You can then fight the Secret Boss at the academy entrance.

However, you can also unlock the staff of the Paldea Academy! To do this, you’ll need to complete three of their friendship events in the Academy. You’ll need to take their classes and speak to them to start these mini quests. Once you’ve hit three friendship events, they’ll become unlockable in the Special Coach menu.

The final three Special Coaches are Arven, Nemona, and Penny. To unlock our Paldean pals, you’ll need to complete the Indigo Disk Epilogue. Once you’ve cleaned Katakami of the Mochi, Mochi curse, you can automatically invite Arven, Penny, and Nemona to Blueberry Academy.

Who is the Secret Boss in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Indigo Disk?

Once you’ve unlocked and completed a trade with all eight gym leaders, the Elite Four, Geeta, Jacq, and Clavell, you’ll be able to summon the Secret Boss of Blueberry Academy. To do this, access the League Terminal and scroll to the bottom. You’ll see an option to call the Secret Boss for 10 BP.

Do so, and you’ll get a call telling you to go to the Academy Entrance. You’ll immediately get a cut scene that puts you there, so save before summoning him if you’re worried about this fight!

There, you’ll encounter Director Cyrano. He’s the strongest trainer in Blueberry Academy.

Here is Cyrano’s Team:

  • Mandibuzz – Level 86.
  • Zebstrika – Level 86.
    • Will always lead with Mandibuzz using Protect and Zebstrika using Bulldoze.
  • Samurott – Level 87.
  • Emboar – Level 87.
  • Gothitelle – Level 86.
  • Serperior – Level 87.
    • This is Cyrano’s Ace, and it will Terastalize into a Rock-type.

Once you defeat Cyrano, you’ll get 20,880 Gold, three Comet Shards, and he’ll trade you a Shiny Blitzle. Just like before, it doesn’t matter what Pokemon you offer to trade.
