This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

The newest season of Fortnite has arrived, and with it are four new locations that players can explore. If you haven’t heard, things went wrong during the Doomsday event that ended the previous season and brought changes to the map, as pretty much every area on the island is now flooded with water. With that in mind, in this guide, we are going to take a look at all of the Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 3 map changes.

Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 3 Map Changes – The Authority, Catty Corner, Rickety Rig, The Fortilla

While the entirety of the Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 3 map has been changed, there are four completely new named locations that players can visit in the game. Further, pretty much every area has been altered in some way by the great Fortnite flood. However, for this guide, we are going to take a closer look at the main four new Season 3 map changes: the Authority, Catty Corner, Rickety Rig, and the Fortilla.

The Authority

Perhaps the new hot drop for Chapter 2: Season 3 is the Authority, which sits in the same location as the Agency did. In case you missed it, the Doomsday event pretty much destroyed the Agency, so it’s no surprise that this area has been revamped for the new season. While the Authority is pretty similar to the Agency, it does have a different design, a new sleek dark color scheme, and an impressive wall around it that is keeping most of the water out.

Catty Corner

The new Catty Corner location sits close to the old Box Factory location in the southeast corner of the map, and is the new home of Meowscles, as the name implies. This Fortnite Season 3 map change is one of the smaller ones and is easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. However, you may want to check it out because there is a new hidden vault there that players can unlock to try and get a mythic weapon.

Rickety Rig

Rickety Rig is pretty much the Rig but is only a shadow of its former glory. It still sits in the southwest corner of the map, with most of the area being destroyed or underwater. However, there is talk that the water will be drying up as Season 3 progresses, so it’s possible there could be more to the Rickety Rig map change than meets the eye later on in the season. But we will have to wait and see.

The Fortilla

The Fortilla is perhaps the most interesting of the Fortnite Season 3 map changes, as it is a completely new area. Sitting in the southwest corner of the map, the Fortilla is home to a pirate ship, floating houses, and a whole lot more. There is plenty of stuff to do at this new location to keep you busy for a long time, just watch out for those pesky Henchmen!

The Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 3 map changes and new locations are just the beginning of all the new stuff to do this season. In the list below, you’ll find some links to some of our Fortnite Season 3 guides that should help you navigate the new world.
