All Confirmed New Characters Coming to Street Fighter 6 in the Year 1 DLC

A New Challengers Will Appear!

Street Fighter 6 has arrived and instantly brought Capcom’s famous fighting series back into the spotlight. If you remember the situation with the previous entry at its launch back in 2015, it wasn’t that great. With Street Fighter 6, the latest entry that’s transferred the game to the RE Engine has arrived as a finished product, with a functional online mode and a great single-player career.

Also, the roster of characters is quite solid from the start, but this wouldn’t be a Street Fighter title if there wasn’t a long-term plan to add new fighters to the game. So, let’s list all confirmed new characters that are coming to Street Fighter 6 as Year 1 DLC.

New Characters Coming to Street Fighter 6 in the First Year – Listed

It was recently revealed by Capcom which characters will be added and when to Street Fighter 6 during the first year – let’s check them out.

A.K.I (Summer 2023)

The first additional character for Street Fighter 6 will be a brand-new one. A.K.I is Chinese, and it is kinda mind-boggling that she is only the second Chinese character in the series, with the first one, of course, being Chun-Li. We don’t know much about A.K.I., her fighting style, nor what that acronym stands for – but those nails look sharp and scary, that’s for sure.

Rashid (Fall 2023)

One of the newer characters that were first introduced in the launch version of Street Fighter V and were instantly accepted by the players, Rasheed uses parkour and wind as a fighting style, and how much he will be changed as a character in the new version remains to be seen.

Ed (Winter 2023)

Ed is also a returning character from Street Fighter V, who was added relatively late there, but due to his unique Psychic Boxing, he quickly became a frequently chosen character. It will be interesting to see how his fighting style will work with the new drive system in Street Fighter 6.

Akuma (Spring 2024)

You thought this was going to go without him? Of course not. Akuma, also known as Gouki, is a legendary character in the Street Fighter universe whose popularity has never waned. In Street Fighter V he was one of the most frequently chosen characters. We’ll have to wait a little longer for Akuma’s return in Street Fighter 6, but that’s just a hint that he’ll be OP again, we just need to get the confirmation that we’ll be able to change the color of his hair and beard to red!

That is all of the additional characters announced for Street Fighter 6 so far, from the day of release until next summer, when the game will be a year old – of course, the chances are extremely high that this is only the beginning of additional content, so we can expect more characters in the second and later years.
