Here are the top reviews for Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Fire Emblem: Three Houses officially kicks off tomorrow and while our personal review is still in progress, we decided to round up what some of our friends across the industry are saying about the latest Nintendo title. Overall the impressions are pretty good for the game that centers around the Fodlan continent. So without further adieu, here’s what the world is saying with our Fire Emblem: Three Houses review round up.

Recommended Videos

GamesRadar – 100 out of 100

“Fire Emblem: Three Houses fully realizes a new, meaningful direction for the franchise that makes it the best it has ever been.”

Destructoid – 95 out of 100

“While strategy is indubitably a large part of Fire Emblem’s DNA, the vast majority of my enjoyment was found having lunch with classmates and getting to know them better.”

GameSpot – 9 out of 10

“When all was said and done, all I could think about was starting another playthrough. I was curious about the mysteries left unsolved, of course, but I also hoped to undo my mistakes. There were characters I didn’t talk to enough, students I didn’t recruit, and far more effective ways to train my units. A second playthrough treads familiar ground in the beginning, but after learning and growing so much in the first, it feels fresh, too. That speaks to Three Houses’ mechanical complexity and depth as well as the connections it fosters with its characters–and whether you’re managing inventories or battlefields, it’s the kind of game that’s hard to put down, even when it’s over.”

Polygon – No Numerical Score

“Fire Emblem: Three Houses is many things. It’s an epic war story on a Game of Thrones scale. It’s a relationship simulator, with flirting, romance, and gift giving. Oh, and it’s a tactical strategy game. What’s so bizarre is that none of these elements play second fiddle. The story, the relationships, the tactical gameplay — they’re all treated as equally important, building to an even greater crescendo as they collide.”

Daily Star – 60 out of 100

“Fire Emblem: Three Houses is not a bad game – it starts off strong and for some reason systematically unpicks everything by the time you’re 30 hours in. The battle system is fairly impressive but still carries some of the flaws the series has had for the past decade, and the writing of the central cast feels like a step back compared to the 3DS series’ entries.”

With the occasionally peppered in negative review, overall the reception was overwhelmingly positive! You can check it out for yourself when Fire Emblem: Three Houses makes its grand debut on Friday, July 26th.
