Yes, Helldivers 2 is Getting Mechs Sooner Than Later

The servers aren't on fire, so where do we go from here?

Trust me, we’re all very excited about vehicles and mechs coming to Helldivers 2. Leaks are swirling, rumors are whirling, but what we do know (almost) for sure is that the content is almost ready.

Mechs? What Mechs?

Yesterday, over on the Helldivers Subreddit, a video was posted showing off one of the mechs that appeared in the first game. This mech, the EX0-44 ‘Stomper’ Exosuit which appeared in the original Helldivers, is fitted with armor-piercing missiles and a minigun. As someone who near-exclusively relied on this stratagem to keep myself and my friends alive all those years ago, I am.. very.. excited about this footage.

Now that the server issues are under control, the team over at Arrowhead has stated that they’re back on track with their original development plans. After some recent hires, these are sure to include the release of new stratagems, including the missing Exosuits which were featured in the launch date trailer as “in progress.”

Other New Stratagems and Content Coming to Helldivers 2

Other leaked, but well-corroborated reports of stratagems are floating around as well. Nukes, NPC Helldivers, and Laser Weapons are just a few of the datamined or otherwise dubiously-previewed abilities we can look forward to getting our hands on eventually. Of course, not everything that exists in a game’s files will make its way to a playable state, so take these leaks with a grain of salt. The mechs, though, are 100% on their way.

Some other leaked files may point to weapon customization, with names like “WeaponCustomizationSlot_PaintScheme.” Sounds pretty cut and dry to me!

And finally, lest we forget, there’s an entire third faction conspicuously missing from the game. That definitely feels like something to keep an eye out for as well.
