Xbox One Ships Over 5 Million

Microsoft has confirmed that its new console has shipped over 5 million units to date.

Microsoft has officially confirmed that over 5 million Xbox One consoles have shipped to retailers to date. The new console is currently outpacing the Xbox 360 by over 60 percent when compared to sales over the same period following the launch of the 360.

The company also noted that Xbox One owners are spending an average of five hours per day on the new console. More than one billion hours have been spent playing games or using various apps on the console to date, including breaking new usage records for number of unique Twitch broadcasters. With E3 looming on the horizon, the hype is building for the annual video game spectatcle.
