The Serious Sam legacy has done pretty well on the Xbox Live Marketplace thus far, with the first two games receiving high-definition make-overs and packing no shortage of over-the-top action and explosions.  But if you think the hero’s done with doing damage on that platform, you’ve got another thing coming.  In fact, make that two things.

It’s been announced that Serious Sam 3: BFE will be getting the digital treatment for Xbox Live Arcade this fall, complete with all its multiplayer features, along with high-definition visuals and, of course, more enemies to blow up.  No word yet on pricing, but somewhere around the $15 range is expected.

Meanwhile, those preferring a more traditional side-scrolling action game along the lines of Contra will enjoy Serious Sam Double D XXL.  Made by Mommy’s Best Games for PC last year, the game turned out to be a huge hit which then prompted its release for Xbox Live Arcade.  The game brings all the action of the original along with “new campaign missions, new challenges, new enemies, Gunstacker upgrades and a hot new two-player local cooperative mode.”  It’ll sell for 800 Microsoft points, or $10.

As Sam might say, “Whoa, baby, this is Serious!”
